Tijuana’s Tacos Nhuni Hii disappoint due to their lack of flavor

Despite this, Chef Danny enjoyed that one of tacos used lettuce instead of cabbage

In this episode of Una Mordida Tacos Tijuana, our host, Chef Danny Betancourt visited Tacos a Vapor Nhuni Hii, located in Calle 11, East Zone. Two tacos were tasted here: a pork rind taco and a meat with potatoes taco. Both are priced at $1 dollar (20 pesos).

Pork Rind Taco

This taco has pork rind, lettuce, onion, red sauce, and is served with two corn tortillas. When tasted, the chef confirmed that the sauce was somehow spicy, but the flavor of the added chili peppers in the sauce where the pork rind is cooked prevailed.

Dany describes the mixture of protein like a potato mixture, since it feels a little mushy. In our host’s opinion, the taco generally lacks flavor and salt, and the onion needed to be more pickled. Because of this, the rating for this taco is 6.5.

Meat with Potatoes Taco

The special touch of the vapor-cooked tacos (tacos al vapor) is the grease in which they are served, which is why Chef Danny was not disappointed in this regard. What he found quite curious was that, instead of being served with cabbage like in other places, the tacos were accompanied with lettuce. The taco has beef, potato, lettuce, onion, red sauce, and is served with two corn tortillas.

The meat and the potatoes in this taco create quite a good combination, due to it being seasoned correctly. The lettuce adds a fresh style to all the ingredients, in contrast with tacos served with cabbage. Because of this, the rating for this taco is 7.5.
