Due to the great flavor of its tacos “Los Vaquetones de Sinaloa” in Tijuana gets a rating of 8.9

This taqueria did quite well with both of its tacos

On this episode of Una Mordida Tacos Tijuana, our host Chef Danny Betancourt went to “Mariscos Los Vaquetones de Sinaloa” located at Blvd. Casa Blanca 21304, Matamoros Norte. On this occasion he tried two tacos: an octopus rind taco priced at $5.25 dollars ($105 pesos) and a marlin taco priced at $3.25 dollars ($65 pesos).

Octopus Rind Taco

This taco has octopus rind, pico de gallo, avocado, a crust of cheese, and is served on two handmade corn tortillas. Before he tried this taco, Chef Danny decided to add some green sauce which was served next to the taco, since he thought that the taco was going to be dry due to the octopus rind. That is also why he added a few drops of lime.

When he tried it, Danny claimed that the octopus was cooked well as it wasn’t very chewy. It was also battered with flour which gave it a crunchy touch when it was fried. The avocado’s creaminess, the salsa’s sourness (which had a good flavor), and the pico de gallo helped this taco a lot. This is why this taco gets a rating of 8.9.

Marlin Taco

This taco has marlin stew, cheese, and is served on two handmade corn tortillas. The corn tortillas were griddled with a little bit of butter. The marlin’s stew had onion, tomato, celery, and, usually, Anaheim peppers.

When he took his first bite, Chef Danny claimed that the stew had a good flavor due to its marlin touches, as well as the onion, tomato, and the entire dish. He said that he would have liked it if the tortillas had been fried a little bit more. The cheese added a lot of flavor to the taco, improving it even more. When he took his second bite, Chef Danny decided to add some chipotle dressing which also helped this taco, which is why it gets a rating of 8.8.

Chef Danny stressed that he was surprised by the two tacos he had tried at this taqueria.
