Famous "quesaburros de la rampa" in Tijuana impress due to their delicious flavor

This small but famous spot is many people’s favorite

On this episode of Una Mordida Tacos Tijuana, our host Chef Danny Betancourt went to a very famous spot in the city: “Los Quesaburros” located at Aguascalientes 28, Agua Caliente Secc. Pinos. On this occasion, he tried a burrito priced at $1.38 dollars ($25 pesos) and a quesaburro priced at $2.77 dollars ($50 pesos).

Burrito

This taco has shredded beef, beans, and it is served on a flour tortilla. Chef Danny claimed that at first glance the meat looked quite juicy. When he took his first bite, he said that the beans had a great amount of flavor as they had been smeared in lard.

He added that the meat, besides being juicy, had a lot of flavor and its texture was very soft, to the point that it mixed well with the rest of the ingredients. The beans were also placed like a paste and the tortilla was fried on one side creating a crust. This is why this taco gets a rating of 8.5.

Price: $1.38 dollars ($25 pesos)

Quesaburro (Burrito with Cheese)

This taco has beans, shredded meat, asadero cheese, green salsa, and it is served on flour tortillas. As its name indicates, it is a burrito inside a quesadilla and one can see this when it is opened, as the first tortilla has the cheese and green sauce and inside, there’s a burrito with beans and shredded meat.

Chef Danny thought that it was going to be a very dry dish, however, the juiciness of the meat prevented this. The cheese also created a good string when stretched, and it had an intense and salty flavor. The quesadilla’s tortilla was fried, which created contrast with the inner ingredients that were soft. The salsa had good intensity and color. This is why this taco gets a rating of 8.8.

Price: $2.77 dollars ($50 pesos)
