Red salsa in chorizo taco by “Tacos Luis” in Tijuana surprises for being very spicy

Chef Danny also tried a carne asada taco

On this episode of Una Mordida Tacos Tijuana, our host Chef Danny Betancourt went to “Tacos Luis” located at C. Murua 4027, Miguel Hidalgo 22645. On this occasion, he tried two tacos: a carne asada taco and a chorizo taco, both priced at $1.2 dollars ($24 pesos).

Chorizo Taco

This taco has chorizo, onion, cilantro, red salsa, guacamole, and is served on two packaged corn tortillas. When he took his first bite, Chef Danny highlighted that the chorizo was at its perfect cooked point; fried outside, and well cooked inside.

The guacamole ended up being watery guacamole. Something else to note was the salsa which, despite being huevona-style, it was quite spicy. When Chef Danny tried it again, he confirmed how hot it was. This is why it gets a rating of 7.1.

Price: $1.2 dollars ($24 pesos)

Carne Asada Taco

This taco has carne asada (grilled beef), guacamole, red salsa, onion, coriander, and is served on two packaged corn tortillas. When he tried it, Chef Danny confirmed once again how spicy the salsa was. On his hot sauce rating scale, he scored it an 8.5/10.

The guacamole did not help this taco at all. However, Chef Danny did like the way in which the meat was cooked as it was quite juicy; it gave it more flavor as the meat was marinated lightly. This is why this taco gets a rating of 6.2.

Price: $1.2 dollars ($24 pesos)
