Baja Californian seafood is renowned worldwide due to its incredible flavor, abundance, and the delicious dishes that local chefs create with these products that come directly from the sea. Thousands of tourists and residents visit the coasts of Baja California to enjoy the view and gastronomy of the region.

The Rosarito Committee of Tourism and Conventions (COTUCO Rosarito) invites everyone to come to the Festival del Pescado & Marisco (Fish and Seafood Festival) in Rosarito this Sunday, August 7. This is a family event whose goal is to show Baja Californian sea products as well as uniting restaurants and fish industries to create a dish that will be tried by all attendants.

30 regional restaurants and 30 fishing and aquaculture producers will be chosen randomly to make 30 teams that will team up a producer with a restaurant. Both will work to create a dish that will be given for free to attendants. Every stand will provide 200 gastronomic samples.

The chosen dish will also be a part of a competition during the event. Each judge will try each sample and they will determine the winner as well as the 2nd and 3rd place. In addition, there will be an award given to the attendants’ favorite dish (“People’s Choice”) who will be able to vote in ballot boxes.

COTUCO Rosarito encourages all national and foreign tourists and residents to come to this festival, whose goal is to promote local gastronomy as well as the consumption of Baja California’s own products. The presale entry ticket price will be $300 pesos ($15 dollars) and $350 pesos ($17 dollars) at the ticket booth on the day of the festival. This will give you access to all tastings and samplings from participating restaurants-fishing producers, wineries, and breweries.
