Following an agenda aimed at boosting growth and establishing tourism activity in southern Baja California, State Secretary of Tourism Miguel Aguíñiga Rodríguez led a tour through the municipalities of San Felipe and San Quintín, while being joined by the directors of Tourist Products, Tourism and Planning Assistance, and Investment Promotion.

In San Felipe, the Secretary spoke with representatives of the tourism value chain to discuss key topics regarding boosting growth and positioning the fishing port as a strategic destination in the region. During his visit, he gave a Productive and Sustainable Inclusion Aid package to Kamilia Fishing so this business could acquire kayaking equipment. This will contribute to strengthening their operations and offer higher quality services, build trust, and improve visitors' experiences.

In San Quintin, members of the tourism value chain made a commitment to follow the National Code of Conduct for Children and Teenager Protection in the Travel and Tourism Industry, reaffirming Baja California's commitment to promoting responsible and safe tourism. Furthermore, two National Registrations of Tourism and two Productive and Sustainable Inclusion Aid packages were given to tourist service providers to strengthen formal jobs and the quality of the region’s tourism offerings.

During this tour, Aguíñiga Rodríguez met with the Municipal President of the H. First City Hall of San Quintín, Miriam Cano Núñez, and José Luis Dangino López, Municipal President of the H. First City Hall of San Felipe, with whom he spoke with about strategic topics to strengthen the tourism industry in both areas.

These actions are part of the efforts by the Secretariat of Tourism to establish Baja California as a premier destination that is competitive, diverse, and committed to equitable and sustainable development.
