Mayor Montserrat Caballero Ramírez inaugurated a paving project with hydraulic concrete where $5,531,220 pesos, resources from federal program Ramo 33, were invested at Calle Calzada La Punta in Colonia Lomas Taurinas.

The mayor of Tijuana recognized that this administration is taking actions that previous governments did not do. She pointed out that there's a lot to be done, but step by step, they are achieving important benefits for Tijuana and its people.

Caballero Ramírez said that thanks to the healthy finances of the 24th Municipal Administration of Tijuana, they managed to pay the city's debt without sacrificing the 2024 budget and that they continue to work to improve the quality of life of all Tijuana natives.

The mayor said that progress is being made with this paving project at Calzada La Punta, Colonia Lomas Taurinas, Otay Centenario Delegation. She announced that "We are doing the project on this area's park, we are looking for a way to have it, because in this administration we made a commitment to recover these areas. Don't think that just because we are poor, we don't deserve dignified, high-quality spaces."

The mayor of Tijuana underscored that after announcing the city's debt payment, there are still resources to inaugurate high-quality projects. Such is the case of the Calzada La Punta project as it directly benefits more than 4,500 residents of Colonia Lomas Taurinas.

"We continue to invest in our children, for a high quality of life for all of you. I just ask a favor of you: take care of your drainage systems, don't throw out heavy garbage. This year we are building a field where heavy garbage can be placed, so there's no excuse to litter," the mayor said.

The Secretary of Territorial, Urban, and Environmental Development (SDTUA), Juan Enrique Bautista Corona, explained that this project in Colonia Lomas Taurinas consisted of paving a surface of 2,203 square meters with a length of 315 linear meters.

The residents of Calle Calzada La Punta, represented by Mrs. Erika Castro Acosta, thanked the mayor of Tijuana for this pavement project which they had requested for more than 13 years with no response.

"Our dream has become a reality. Thanks to you for giving us the chance to have our street, as it had become impassable. It was very ugly, full of holes, we have no way of thanking you for this," the president of the neighborhood committee said.

For the 24th Municipal Administration of Tijuana, one of their priorities is the wellbeing of Tijuana's families. That's why, mayor Montserrat Caballero reaffirms her commitment with projects that improve the city's infrastructure and the quality of life of all citizens.
