More meat than tortilla! Try this delicious asada taco by "Tacos La Villita" in Tijuana

Chef Danny also tried a suadero taco with a delicious salsa

On this episode of Una Mordida Tacos Tijuana, our host Chef Danny Betancourt went to "Tacos La Villita" lcoated in Montes de Oca, Villafontana, Fontana XIII. On this occasion, he tried two tacos: a carne asada taco priced at $1.93 dollars ($31 pesos) and a suadero taco priced at $2.12 dollars ($35 pesos).

Carne Asada Taco

This taco has carne asada (grilled beef), onion, cilantro, beans, guacamole, huevona salsa, and it is served on a corn tortilla. Before he tried it, Chef Danny claimed that this taco "had more meat than tortilla". In addition, it had a great amount of ingredients.

When he took his first bite, Chef Danny said that the intense coal flavor stood out in the meat, something he really liked. He highlighted that the guacamole was fresh, and he noticed because of its color and flavor, which were very pleasant. The only "but" here was the tortilla, since it was missing something to "push" the maize flavor. It also needed to be bigger or thicker. This is why this taco gets a rating of 8.9.

Price: $1.93 dollars ($31 pesos)

Suadero Taco

This taco has suadero, onion, cilantro, red salsa, and it is served on two store-bought corn tortillas. Just by looking at it, Chef Danny said that the salsa looked as if it would have a lot of flavor and he confirmed it when he took his first bite. Chef Danny said that the sauce had tomato, tomatillo, and chile de árbol due to its flavor and its spiciness.

He added that the meat was dry despite it being suadero and he also said that it looked more like maciza meat, the one that is served with carnitas. The tortillas were drenched in grease, which made them look like they were from steamed tacos. This made the taco heavier due to the amount of grease, however, the maize flavor did not stand out. This is why this taco gets a rating of 7.0.

Price: $2.12 dollars ($35 pesos
