Tacos Varios Aarón in Tijuana gets a rating of 6 for their salty tacos and for using watery guacamole

The salsa used for these tacos wasn’t the best choice

On this episode of Una Mordida Tacos Tijuana, our host Chef Danny Betancourt went to “Tacos Varios Aarón” located at C. Pedregal, Playas. On this occasion he tried two tacos: a milanesa taco and an egg with machaca taco, both priced at $1.65 dollars ($33 pesos).

Milanesa Taco

This taco has beef milanesa, lettuce, watery guacamole, and a corn tortilla. It should be noted that this taco had pork rind in green sauce which was added after the taco was made. Chef Danny said that it was the “extra serving.”

When he took his first bite, our host said that the tortilla was a little smaller than normal tortillas and had a neutral flavor. He was not able to detect the flavors of the sauce or the pork rind, which meant the milanesa flavor was the main highlight due to the fact that it was breaded. It had a strong flavor, but it was a little too salty. The watery guacamole did not help the taco at all and the milanesa itself was a little past its freshest point, as it had become a little bit bitter for being griddled too much. This is why this taco gets a rating of 6.5.

Egg with Machaca Taco

This taco has egg with machaca, purple onion, cilantro, green salsa, and is served on a corn tortilla. When he took his first bite, Chef Danny said that the egg of this taco was humidified quite well.

Before he even took his next bite, the tortilla was already breaking down. Chef Danny said that the machaca flavor was not easily distinguished in the taco. The sauce was the same one used in the previous taco and on this taco, he discovered that it was salty. The onion and cilantro added some freshness which is why this taco gets a rating of 6.9.
