Tacos With Muchachos’ goal is to promote and give credit to taquerias all over Baja California, both for their history and their incredible dishes. On this occasion, the taqueria they visited is one of Tijuana’s most famous taquerias which has even been visited by international celebrities. We are talking about Las Ahumaderas.

To be precise, Las Ahumaderas is comprised of three different taquerias located one next to the other. These are “Tacos El Paisano”, “Taquería Las 3 Salsas”, and “Tacos El Paisa”. Scott Koenig and his guest Tony Tee visited “Tacos El Paisa”, the same taqueria that Tony brought Anthony Bourdain to where he called adobada tacos a “mystery meat on a stick” and were also his favorite in all of Tijuana.

Here the hosts tried a vampiro, which is a taco served in a tostada-like tortilla with cheese and a samurai, which is a taco with meat and chorizo. These tacos have delighted hundreds of Tijuana natives and tourists and it is no surprise that they managed to delight Scott’s and Tony’s palates.

Las Ahumaderas is a taqueria alliance which compete in a healthy manner to get customers. These are located at Boulevard Aguacaliente, which makes them quite convenient for American visitors since it is very close to downtown Tijuana. They are open 24/7 so one can visit them at any time, day or night.
