Marina del Pilar gives hot breakfasts to Baja Californian primary schools

More than 400 schools in the region will benefit

Baja Californian Governor, Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda launched the project that will benefit boys and girls in primary school with hot breakfasts. This will happen in schools of the 7 municipalities of Baja California and represents an important aid to families who need it the most.

The beginning of the project took place in ”Emiliano Zapato" Primary School, located in Zona Este in Tijuana in presence of administrative personnel, teachers, boys, girls, parents, and public state officials who highlighted the relevance of the event since it will strengthen the return to in-person classes after two years of the pandemic.

The Governor, to the students present, stated:

We are going to benefit more than 117,000 children in the entire state during this first phase. We have allocated 250 million pesos to this, but we are preparing for the second phase, so that you always receive your hot breakfast whenever you come to school.

The goal is to grant access to girls, boys, and teenagers in the public schools from the Basic Education of the Baja Californian State, so that they have healthy and high-quality nutrition through hot breakfasts, which will help to improve their lives and their family economy.

Marina del Pilar added:

Our Government is the Government of childhood, it is the Government that puts above all our Baja Californian childhood and our youth so that they are listened to and represented. We will keep putting all of our effort to give the wellness that you and your families deserve.

The state governor highlighted the importance of socializing the support and reaffirming the will to improve girls, boys, and teenagers’ conditions in Basic Education Schools, since they are all a part of the development of future citizens.

For his part, the Secretary of Education of Baja California, Gerardo Arturo Solís Benavides, explained that this initiative is looking to give girls, boys, and teenagers healthy and high quality food and nutrition through hot breakfasts so that they can improve their life and strengthen their families.
