Our host, Isaac Kalimo, tasted the second taco from Los Palmitos Mexican Eatery, situated at 5145 Clairemont Mesa Blvd in San Diego. After the asada taco in the last part, it was the Mahi Mahi Fish Taco's turn.
There are some regulations in Taco Bites, one of which is that the taco must be eaten while standing. Finally, as the slogan states, "One Taco, Two Bites," the taco will be allowed two bites before being graded.
This taco is made with fish and has a mango sauce, chipotle cream, and the host was advised to try it with the habanero sauce. Isaac noted that the tortilla looked different, but he couldn't tell if it was because it was handmade or if it was made of flour, and he added that it tasted good after tasting it.
He couldn't reach the Mahi fish in the first bite, so he made sure to get a piece in the second. The only criticism that could be made of this taco is that it would have been better if the mango had been a little riper. So all of the tastes, plus the fact that I expected the sauce to be hotter, contributed to the taco's 7.9 ratings.
