Fiestas de la Vendimia (Grape Harvest Festival) kicks off its first week of activities in the Guadalupe Valley

Several wineries will have special dinners and festivals

The XXXI edition of the Fiestas de la Vendimia has started after a year of suspension due to the pandemic. It comes with a calendar of activities ready to please tourists and visitors who wish to experience something different.

Presented by Hotel Coral & Marina and the Baja California Wine Harvest Committee, this first week we will have the following events in the Guadalupe Valley and Ensenada:

Monday, August 2 to Sunday, August 15

Alfredo Di Roma at El Cielo

With the exclusive participation of Chef Mauro Chiecchio. Venue: Latitud 32 Restaurant. OpenTable

Friday, August 6th

Wine Show

Santo Tomás Square. Time: 7 p.m. Cost 1,200 pesos. Series of lectures by winemakers.

This event will have a significant reduction in seating capacity, limited to 500 tickets, and the whole scheme will be reconfigured.

The event is decorated with nostalgia, the countryside and the future. The concept ranges from gastronomy in three categories (legendary, current and those promising for the future), wine in its traditional classics and new trends, to the different artistic and cultural expressions.

You will have the opportunity to taste +140 wine labels from the producers/winemakers of the 73 participating wineries, as well as gastronomic samples from +20 regional restaurants.

We want every corner to evoke a memory, a reflection. To this end, in this edition we have designed a program of conferences that will begin simultaneously at 6:00 p.m.:

1.- "Rivers of life in the Valley: chronicle of a shared dream" By Dr. Ileana Espejel.

2.- "Viticulture: Back to the origin. A vision yesterday, today and tomorrow" By Camilo Magoni.

3.- "Community Networks - Circular Economy" By Jimena Rábago and Loic Barbara.

4.- "If you are going to clear land, think twice. Benefits of not clearing land with native plants" By Paula Pijoan and Carmen Domínguez.

5.- "Wine and health" By Dr. Rafael Iñigo Pavlovich.

6.- "Guest Region: Guanajuato" By Uva y Vid de Guanajuato. Wine Samples in Plaza Santo Tomás, starting at 7:00 p.m. Main artist: CAPYAC.
