Baja California’s Secretariat of Tourism invites everyone to experience the beauty of nature up close during the upcoming gray whale watching season, which runs from December 15 to April 15.
During this season, these majestic giants migrate thousands of miles from the frozen northern waters to the peninsula’s warmer lagoons, seeking the ideal conditions to breed and give birth.
Secretary of Tourism Miguel Aguíñiga Rodríguez highlighted that Baja California has become a premier destination for travelers seeking to connect with nature and embark on thrilling adventures. Thanks to unique attractions like gray whale watching, Ensenada has established itself as a national and international tourism benchmark.
Gray whale watching tours typically last 4 to 5 hours and depart from Punta Banda, San Miguel Beach, and the Islas Todos Santos areas. During these excursions, visitors can also enjoy bird and dolphin watching, as well as breathtaking views of the continental mountain range. Warm clothing is recommended for a comfortable experience.
Tour prices are $700 pesos ($35 USD) for adults and $500 pesos ($25 USD) for minors. To ensure safety, quality experiences, and promote responsible and sustainable tourism, 25 authorized boats operate in the region to organize these tours.
Baja California’s Secretariat of Tourism reaffirms its commitment to sustainable tourism and the conservation of the natural resources that define the region.
