Mexico is known worldwide for its rich culture and traditions as well as its delicious gastronomy, including exquisite desserts. One of its famous sweets is the famous peanut mazapanes (marzipan sweets) by the "Dulces de la Rosa" corporation. Proud of its Mexican heritage, this company will organize a unique event involving their iconic marzipan this weekend.
Biggest marzipan in the world to be made in California starting this Friday
On their official Facebook account, Dulces de la Rosa announced its most recent goal: set a Guinness World Record for biggest marzipan in the world in the United States.
From Friday, October 25 to Sunday, October 27, you can go to Plaza de Las Banderas, 20 Civic Center Plaza, Santa Ana, California to witness this historic and free event.
The main goal of Dulces de la Rosa, together with "Los 32 por México y Más", a non-profit organization that aims to rescue art, culture, and Mexican traditions, is to extol the people and values of Mexico and the Latino community in the United States. This product is not just a candy, but a reminder of proud Mexican roots.
Dulces de la Rosa is trying to break their own record. In 2018, they broke the Guinness World Record for biggest marzipan in the world: this sweet weighted a total of 8.296 tons, had a diameter of 3 meters, and was 1.2 meters high. To make it, 70 people worked on it for three hours and used 4,343 kg of sugar, 4,009 kg of peanuts, and 400 ml of flavoring. 130,000 people tried this amazing world record-breaking sweet!
