Marina del Pilar: Federal projects are moving forward for the development of Baja California

The state governor highlighted that these infrastructure projects that boost the development of Baja California are backed by the president

The governor of Baja California, Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda, held a work meeting in the city of Tijuana in order to analyze the progress regarding megaprojects made with the support from the government led by the president of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador. These projects include the Otay II port of entry, the elevated viaduct, among others, whose total invested amount is 15.6 billion pesos.

The state governor pointed out that these projects present an important development, which is why she reiterated the state administration's willingness to speed them up without losing the rhythm and prioritizing the wellbeing of all Tijuana natives, especially those who will be benefited by these projects that improve the binational environment, road mobility, and the supply of water as a human right.

Marina del Pilar recognized federal authorities, especially the Secretariat of National Defense (SEDENA) and Mexico Customs, for leading these projects in permanent coordination with municipal and state authorities.

"We will keep putting our heart above all to benefit all Tijuana natives, and all of Baja California, promoting infrastructure projects that improve the quality of life of everyone, especially regarding water supply and mobility as we believe that those are the key to the future of our state," she said.

At this meeting, the following people were present: the Secretary of the Economy, Kurt Ignacio Honold Morales; the Secretary of the Interior, Alfredo Álvarez Cárdenas; Jesús García, the head of the State Commission of Public Utilities of Tijuana (CESPT); Pedro Abarca Medina, SEMPRA representative; Jorge Heriberto Hernández Peñúñuri representing the Federal Commission of Electricity (CFE); General Víctor Hugo Aguirre Serna, commander of the Second Military Region; General Francisco Javier Zubia González, commander of the Second Zone Region; General Raúl Manzano Vélez, commander of Residencia General de Obras; Adrián Peñaloza, representative of the Secretariat of Infrastructure, Communications, and Transport (SICT), and Miguel Ángel Bujanda, Secretary of the 24th Municipal Administration of Tijuana.
