Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda, the governor of Baja California, demonstrated once more the commitment her state administration has with the wellbeing of Baja Californian families through a historic plan for the census of land whose goal is to provide security and legal certainty to the properties of the people at La Morita I and II, Terrazas Del Valle and Lomas Del Valle I and II neighborhoods in the city of Tijuana.

The state governor explained that this activity is implemented together with the Institute of Real Estate and Housing Development (INDIVI) and the Digital Agency of Baja California, through an accessible process in a website that will allow every inhabitant of this sector to register in a Digital Census for free and without middlemen. This will be essential to validate the residence in the area and begin the regularization process. Decisions on this matter and the deeds will be determined together with the Government of Mexico, which is headed by President Andrés Manuel Lopez Obrador.

Regarding this, the head of INDIVI, Saúl Osnaya López pointed out that the population goal of this program is the 7,590 families who live in this area. Since the year of its implementation to today, more than 6,000 residents have been registered. This reflects the commitment and participation of this community in this important process by an open government.

The program is looking not only to inform about progress achieved, but also motivate those who are still not registered to do it. It should be noted that this program is meant for the population at large, where more than 60% of people registered are women and 22% are seniors 60 years of age or older.

The general director of the Digital Agency of Baja California (ADBC), Gabriel Palombo, highlighted that the goal is to carry out exercises of open government through the use of technologies, highlighting their importance and promoting the participation of citizens to learn about their opinions, comments, and concerns. This will create greater closeness between government institutions and society so as to take into account their opinion and points of view.

This plan represents a landmark in regularization and property deeds in Baja California, reflecting the commitment the government of Baja California and its collaborating agencies in providing security and legal certainty to families that have waited for decades to get this support.
