Projects promoted by Montserrat Caballero are of interest to San Diego, Finland, and Sweden

Parque Recreativo y Deportivo Cerro de Las Abejas is already considered a global benchmark for progress and growth

The megaproject Parque Recreativo y Deportivo Cerro de Las Abejas, promoted by mayor Montserrat Caballero Ramírez, has caused interest in foreign construction specialists, placing Tijuana as a global benchmark regarding infrastructure projects.

The leadership and promotion by mayor Montserrat Caballero Ramírez have been essential to the completion of important projects to benefit Tijuana and its inhabitants.

Members of the International Federation of Municipal Engineering (IFME) from countries such as Finland and Sweden, as well as government public projects staff from San Diego, California, as well as civil engineers of the private sector, are currently visiting the city where they toured some of the projects that are being built.

Guided by the Secretary of Territory, Urban, and Environmental Development (SDTUA), Juan Enrique Bautista Corona, and the Director of Municipal Urban Infrastructure and Projects (DOIUM), Marco Antonio Campoy Arce, the party visited the reconstruction project on the road at the level of Cañón del Matadero as well as Parque Recreativo y Deportivo Cerro de las Abejas.

The head of SDTUA, representing mayor Montserrat Caballero, welcomed the visitors, stating: "We are very happy to receive members of IFME accompanied by the government of San Diego as well as civil engineers from the private sector, in this emblematic project by the government of mayor Montserrat Caballero Ramírez: Parque Recreativo y Deportivo Cerro de las Abejas."

Bautista Corona said that this megaproject puts this administration as a reference in development and that it is being carried out with support from the private sector to benefit all Tijuana natives.

He added that the goal of the visit by IFME members is that they have a great experience and are witnesses to the public policies of the 24th Municipal Administration which is working hand in hand with society and the government to improve the quality of life of all citizens.

Parque Recreativo y Deportivo Cerro de las Abejas is establishing a precedent that big projects can be developed with everyone's participation. The goal is to create an identity for the eastern zone of the city, providing people with a recreational space where they can exercise and enjoy nature, but, above all, that can provide a sense of belonging and development for the community.

Some of the sponsors of this megaproject in the eastern zone, such as the president of the Mexican Chamber of the Construction Industry (CMIC), Gabriel Vizcaíno, the president of Mexican Companies of the Construction Industry of the State, Tijuana, Tecate, Rosarito (COMICE), Héctor León Beltrán, the president of the College of Civil Engineers of Tijuana, Gerardo Tenorio Escárcega, and representatives of the National Chamber of the Industry of Housing Development and Promotion (CANADEVI), attended this tour as they have joined efforts with this project in order to benefit families in Tijuana.
