Recently, the 2023 International Bacchus Wine Competition and the Challenge International Du Vin 2023 took place, where Baja Californian winery Monte Xanic won four gold medals.
More than 2,500 wine labels from 24 countries participated in one of the most important viniculture competitions in the world, which took place in Madrid and Bordeaux. Monte Xanic distinguished itself as the only Mexican wine that was awarded with four gold medals, thanks to their Monte Xanic Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot, Monte Xanic Merlot 2021, and Calixa Syrah 2021 wines.
It should be noted that during the 2023 International Bacchus Wine Competition, 90 of the best wine-tasters in the world, from 28 countries, participated; for three days, they gathered at the Casino Español evaluating 1,728 wines. Only 53 wines got a rating above 93 Points; of these 53 wines, the 2021 Monte Xanic wine won the Great Golden Bacchus and Monte Xanic Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot 2021 won the Silver Bacchus.
The judging panels of this international competition consisted of masters of wine, masters of sommelier, specialized critics, and oenologists from different parts of the world and who tasted the wine blindly.
The Challenge International Du Vin 2023 is France’s oldest international wine competition. Its main characteristic is that every judging panel of wine tasters consists of four members: a technician, a winemaker, a distributor, and an expert consumer.
Monte Xanic is the main winery of ultra-premium Mexican wines and it is part of the great variety of wineries located in Baja California; it can be found between Valle de Guadalupe and Ojos Negros. The great value of its products has given it international renown and recognition.
