Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda, the governor of Baja California, held a meeting with the Public Sanitation Services of France and the International Agency of Water, key institutions that administer and promote water in Europe. This is part of a series of activities that are part of Marina del Pilar’s work trip in France that is looking to acquire technical and operational knowledge that will be applied for a better management of water in Baja California.

The meeting took place in the Mexican Embassy of France, which is why the Baja Californian governor thanked specially ambassador Blanca Jiménez Cisneros for allowing the state committee to use this diplomatic space for this work meeting.

Marina del Pilar highlighted the historic and permanent willingness of the state to carry out international exchanges regarding cultural, academic, social, and economic matters. She pointed out that the ideas laid out in this meeting will be essential to strengthen the hydraulic policies of the state, which will benefit inhabitants of Baja California in the present and in the future.

“We’ve received a lot of useful knowledge to improve our water management in Baja California. We have also formed alliances to safeguard this human right for our citizens,” she said.

In addition, through the head of the Secretariat for the Management, Sanitation, and Protection of Water in Baja California (SEPROA), José Armando Fernández Samaniego, it was announced that officials of the Public Sanitation Services of France, organization led by François-Marie Didier, will visit Baja Californian lands to learn firsthand the plans of the state government to start cooperating and exchanging experiences that allow us to learn better practices regarding this matter.

“It is my great pleasure to meet François-Marie Didier, President of the Public Sanitation Services of France, who gave us an important perspective in the role that water management plays for the future of our communities. We want to keep strengthening the management of water to benefit Baja Californian families to build a better tomorrow for present and future generations,” Ávila Olmeda said.

From France, Marina del Pilar promotes the 43rd World Congress of Vine and Wine

DIJON, FRANCIA.- On the other hand, Marina del Pilar visited Dijon, capital of the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region, one of the most important winemaking areas worldwide. As such, she met regional president, Marie-Gutie Dufay, who she thanked for her work as promoter of winemaking activities and their economic, social, and cultural implications.

She personally delivered the official an invitation to participate in the 43rd World Congress of Vine and Wine which will take place in the state of Baja California from October 31st to October 4th, 2022, and is the most important wine-related event worldwide, gathering main experts, makers, and personalities of the wine industry.
