Baja Window to the South is a show that is looking to let the world know the wonders that Baja California has to offer besides the ones most renowned by tourists, such as culture and gastronomy. This is why every episode a different guest is interviewed; each person is a key character in Baja California’s development and, in the show, they talk about whatever their specialty is.

On this occasion one of the guests was Juan Tintos, Director of SCORE International, a company with worldwide fame known for their desert off-road races such as Baja 1000. Juan stated that the races were affected by the Covid-19 pandemic which is why the company carried out a groundbreaking biosafety protocol implementation that allowed 2 of the 4 annual races to take place in 2020 with no live audience.

Thanks to the progress made in 2021 and 2022 against Covid-19, such as low infection rates and vaccines, it is expected that this year all the races can be carried out with a live audience. These four races are: Score San Felipe 250, which will take place in April, Baja Titan in June, Baja 400 in September, and the renowned Baja 1000 in November. These races attract a lot of tourists and even celebrities and experts, who travel all over the world to attend.

Tintos highlighted the importance of state and municipal authorities so the races can take place, since there is constant communication between all of them so that, every year, these events are possible. Off-road sports are not the only thing that is promoted in this event, since the races take place in different areas of Baja California, tourists take advantage of other attractions in the state, creating a win-win situation for everyone.
