Tijuana has become the capital of Health Tourism in Mexico, due to its avant-garde facilities and prices that any international traveler will find between 30 and 70 percent cheaper than in their country of origin. For this reason, Cosmopolitan Group, a leader in real estate investment and development, has jointly developed a new project that aims to close the health care gap between the states of Jalisco and Baja California.

Cosmopolitan Group and Hospitales Puerta de Hierro announced this Thursday through a press conference the beginning of the development of Cosmopolitan Health District, a new medical complex that will have the Mayo Clinic Care Network as a member. This will provide high quality services with state-of-the-art technology to meet the needs of national and international patients.

According to Dr. Ricardo Acosta González, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hospitales Puerta de Hierro:

This project, which will have state-of-the-art technology, will be ready by the end of 2024, will be a 50,000 square meter building to be built in Tijuana's Zona Río, with an investment of 1.2 billion pesos and will promote the generation of 2,500 direct and indirect jobs.

David Saul Guakil, president of Cosmopolitan Group, said:

The Cosmopolitan Health District will have 150 medical suites and a long-stay hotel operated by Residence Inn by Marriot. The objective is not only to provide confidence and security, but also to offer the quality and medical expertise of health professionals for patients from Mexico and other parts of the world.

Among the objectives of Grupo Cosmopolitan and Hospitales Puerta de Hierro is to consolidate the city of Tijuana as the capital of medical tourism, a sector that has become more popular in recent years, as well as to seek EDGE Certification (Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiencies). Likewise, this space represents the ideal space for healthcare workers.

Another great success on the part of the creators of the complex is that the building will be located in Zona Río, just 6 minutes from the Tijuana International Port of Entry and approximately 10 minutes from the city's International Airport. This area also promises connectivity to the most important places in the area: hotels, restaurants, financial centers and shopping malls. This adds value to the area.

The new Puerta de Hierro Tijuana Hospital will offer a wide range of specialties and services: cardiology, neurosurgery, ophthalmology, cosmetic and reconstructive surgery, internal medicine, angiology, traumatology and orthopedics, among many other medical specialties. All this, with a perfectly designed space for the patient to be in the best conditions.

It should be noted that the offices of this avant-garde medical district will only have a select group of specialists, who will be approved after a selection process that is perfectly in tune with the philosophy of Hospitales Puerta de Hierro.
