Baja California seems to be coming out of the second wave of COVID-19 infections after observing downward trends, however the pandemic in the state is not over yet.
According to yesterday morning's report by the Secretary of Health, Alonso Perez Rico, in the last 24 hours 117 new cases and 38 deaths were reported in the state. It is worth mentioning that most of the first and second cases were registered in Tijuana, with 53 confirmed cases and 24 deaths.
With this, Baja California has 42 thousand 109 coronavirus infections so far in the pandemic, of which 16 thousand 114 belong to Mexicali, 15 thousand 137 to Tijuana, 6 thousand 335 to Ensenada, 1 thousand 760 to San Quintin, one thousand 308 to Tecate, 913 to Rosarito and 542 to San Felipe.
Regarding the Baja Californians who lost their lives, so far there are 6 thousand 984, 3 thousand 115 of them in Tijuana, 2 thousand 605 in Mexicali, 980 in Ensenada, 174 in Tecate, 80 in San Quintin, 23 in Rosarito and seven in San Felipe.
Authorities asked not to gather as this will only cause a third wave of infections.
There are still 773 active cases, while as of last Wednesday there were 767. Of all the municipalities, only Mexicali was the one that increased the number of cases, going from 182 to 209.
