And how can you doubt what the guests said, if Tecate is characterized by being small, this being an advantage for those who like the tranquility and distance of big cities, but without losing that something that makes it special, unique and obviously magical.
According to Entrepreneur, during 2019, travelers who stayed in Mexico using the platform spent more than 2.8 billion dollars in the country. This figure is the result of the sum of the expenses guests made in restaurants, transportation, services, stores and lodging of the locations they visited.
However, this economic impact would not be achieved without the intervention of the hosts, who are the ones who recommend the best places to eat, shop, have fun and be entertained to each of the people who come to stay with them. The result is trust, closeness and communication.
According to a survey conducted to the hosts:
- 82.10% recommended restaurants or cafes to their guests
- 62.94% recommended cultural sites or activities
- 56.11% suggested outdoor activities
- 48.51% recommended places not so well known among tourists
- 35.72% supported local businesses with their recommendations
Thus, despite the current COVID-19 pandemic, local tourism is moving businesses and therefore cities like Tecate can survive this crisis.
Have you visited Tecate? What other city in Mexico would you add to the list?
