The restaurants have already begun their official reopening after months of being closed or only offering take-out service, given this situation and those with the restaurant bar business are allowed to operate until 11:30 p.m., for which reason it was announced that a fine of up to 20,000 pesos will be applied to those restaurant bars that operate in Tijuana without respecting the permitted hours.

Information from El Imparcial, announced that the director of Municipal Inspection and Verification, Adolfo Garcia Dworak, reported that on weekends they carry out a special operation at night to check compliance with preventive health measures to avoid COVID-19 cases.

Last September 18, 19 and 20, a total of 9 businesses were fined for operating outside the permitted hours, which is at 23:30 hours.

It was recalled that all businesses operating have permission from the State Government, who are the ones who review the protocols, and the City of Tijuana is the one in charge of checking that the health measures are respected.

For the time being, it is known that one of the sanctioned restaurant bars has been Republica Malta located in the Zona Rio. The infraction varies depending on the severity and if they are repeat offenders, but it starts at 2 thousand pesos and can go up to 20 thousand pesos.
