Mexico went down six positions on the Global Peace Survey, ranking on 144 out of 162 nations, making it the most violent country in Central America and the Caribbean, and the second most violent out of all Latin America, after Colombia.
This survey features Mexico among the 10 nations which have a major costs regarding violence restrain, other countries include the United States, China, Russia, India, and Brazil. The report mentions that over the last two years there has been a decrease in violent crimes, however, according to the results of the 2015 index, if Mexico continues to follow its current tendency, it's very likely that there won't be a cost associated decrease regarding homicides.
Some of the states with the highest violence economy impact per capita were, Guerrero, Morelos, Baja California and Tamaulipas, adding up to a cost regarding violence restrain of $221,000 dlls.
Latin America has become less peaceful over the past year, due to an increase in tensions an internal instability in some countries. Steven Killelea, founder the Institute for Peace and Economy, mentioned that many factors that damage Latin America as a region is their rate in homicides, which is higher than any other place in the world, this also includes high levels of corruption.
The Global Peace Survey takes place annually basing its standards on 23 indicators, among them their is, internal security, conflict participate and military rates. This year, the most peaceful place were Iceland, Denmark, and Austria.
