OFFICIAL: Dayro Moreno returns to Tijuana Xolos

The player confirmed it in a TV interview in Colombia.

TIJUANA - One of the first big signings of Club Tijuana Xoloitzcuintles de Caliente upon reaching promotion into the first division was that of Colombian forward Dayro Moreno in 2011. Moreno scored plenty of goals in the one season he spent in Tijuana, but was quickly linked to big transfer rumors with the club struggling in the relegation race.

Newly promoted Tijuana fans did not take kindly to their big star being linked to teams like Club America and showed their frustrations during matches chanting "Mercenary! Mercenary!" During the last match of that first season in the top flight Moreno missed what would have been a game winning penalty; it would have made no difference in terms of playoffs but every point was crucial at that point in the relegation race.

Moreno left Tijuana to return to his native Colombia to play for Once Caldas. Most recently he was part of Millonarias FC where he won the "Botin de Oro" (Golden Boot).

In a TV interview Moreno confirmed that the Xoloitzcuintles directors, Millonarios directors and himself had all agreed to terms and that he will be coming back to the Mexican border town. He also confirmed that it was a three year contract that he signed with the Xolos.
