Tijuana.- The State Tourism Board (SECTURE in Spanish) and the Baja California Craft Brewers Association analyzed issues that would help Ensenada become the starting point for launching new products at a national scale, as well as help consolidate innovation in this field by creating a mobile app for smartphones and boost the craft beer market.
During a meeting held in the "Costa Azul" craft brewery, SECTURE chief Óscar Escobedo Carignan listened to proposals from the 64 member association, the most important one in Mexico.
One of the topics was the design and integration of a smartphone app that would allow users to know the locations of where craft beer is sold, as well as the price and schedules of available tastings for both tourist and region residents.
Escobedo Carignan explained that they also talked about the industry's supply chain and managed to reach an agreement with brewers in which they will be eligible to access a line of credit provided by SECTURE for support, as part of Baja California governor Francisco "Kiko" Vega's commitment to encouraging the growth of producers from Baja and promote their competitiveness.
