As part of the efforts by the 25th City Hall of Tijuana to develop a binational agenda that addresses significant issues for both sides of the border, Municipal President, Ismael Burgueño Ruiz met with Mariza Marin, U.S. Customs and Border Protection Port Director, in order to reinforce their cooperation and brotherhood bonds.
During this meeting, which took place at the U.S. Customs and Border Protection office at the San Ysidro port of entry, both authorities reviewed and analyzed issues such as speeding up border crossings and technology usage.
As such, mayor Isamel Burgueño has specified on several different occasions that his administration will boost projects that allow for the strengthening of infrastructure, specifically, the ones related to the transfer of people, goods, and services.
"We will continue to strengthen our bonds and cooperation with authorities on the other side of the border, addressing issues of common interests together. It is important to contribute to the economic growth of this important mega region. We are a government that is here to provide and generate wellbeing for its people," he added.
The mayor of Tijuana's team consisted of the Secretary of the Municipal Government, Arnulfo Guerrero León; the Secretary of Economic Development of Tijuana, Pedro Montejo Peterson, the Director of Economic Promotion, Óscar Higuera Betancourt; and from the side of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Port Director: Chief of Staff, Ricardo Corral; Relation Supervisor: Juan Araiza, Ernesto Gutiérrez, and Andrés Shadlak; assistant, Marie Tabucbuc.
