COTUCO Rosarito announces new edition of Rosarito-Ensenada Bicycle Ride

COTUCO Rosarito invites people from both sides of the border to enjoy 50 miles of fun through a bike ride where they will observe the state's best landscapes

The Rosarito-Ensenada Bicycle Race has become a tradition in the state of Baja California and, after a year of absence due to logistical problems, a new edition has been announced for Saturday, September 28.

It is an event that transcends sports, becoming a touristic and familiar iconic event thanks to its collaboration with the Committee of Tourism and Conventions (COTUCO) of Playas de Rosarito.

The president of COTUCO Rosarito, César Rivera González announced that this event will take place. After difficult negotiations, the continuity of this bicycle ride was guaranteed with its 45th edition, promising to keep the high-quality standards and organization that has characterized it for so long.

The Bicycle Ride has taken place since 1979 and there are two categories: elite and regular rider.

Highlighting the importance of promoting the region and being an exceptional opportunity for tourism, this ride attracts thousands of local and international riders who then bike all across the amazing landscapes of the coast of Baja California.

The 80 km (50 mile) long ride begins in Playas de Rosarito through Carretera Libre #1 and it ends in the port of Ensenada, making it a perfect experience that attracts hundreds of tourists from the other side of border because, beyond being a competition, it is an opportunity to enjoy the state's panoramic views.

The president of COTUCO Rosarito expressed his joy due to this news, highlighting the importance of the event for the cycling community and the tourism industry in the region.

As always, the economic and social impact of the event has been highlighted as it extends way beyond the limits with hotels, restaurants, shops, and local services that have been benefited by flow of visitors that are also part of this ride.

Rivera González thanked the Municipal Administration of Playas de Rosarito, led by mayor Araceli Brown, and the Secretariat of Tourism of the State (SECUTRE) who have backed this event's organization.

In addition, he recognized the support given by Hugo Torres Ramírez, state executive and CEO of Hotel Rosarito, the venue that launches this event, and Claudia Ley and Guillermo Rodríguez, representatives of the Rosarito-Ensenada Bicycle Ride.
