Marina del Pilar administration forgives fines and late payments on vehicular procedures

During the month of October, the forgiveness percentage will be 100% and it will decrease gradually in November and December

The governor of Baja California, Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda, recently issued a decree regarding the forgiveness of state taxes regarding private individuals and legal entities as part of a comprehensive public policy to improve the situation in Baja California’s homes and families. This will include vehicular procedures such as licenses, circulation cards, and other documents.

The state governor said that the discount percentage begins with 100% during the rest of the October, and it will gradually decrease in November and December, depending on the tax and the payment method. The program will be valid until December 29, 2023.

Regarding this, the Secretary of Finance of Baja California, Marco Antonio Moreno Mexía, stated that late payments and fines will be forgiven in two groups. First, fines and late payments will be forgiven when it comes to state taxes; among them there are the Tax Regarding Compensation of Personal Work, Tax Regarding Trade Activities, among others. This forgiveness will apply when payments are made online in one single payment in the following manner: 100% from October 16 to October 31, 2023; 90% from November 1st to November 30, 2023; and 80% from December 1st to December 29, 2023.

Second, there will be discounts regarding fines and late payments on vehicular procedures such as licenses, license plates, stickers, and circulation cards, among others, when they are paid at the Auxiliary Revenue Collection office, in one single payment. These will apply in the following manner: 100% from October 16 to October 31; 75% from November 1st to November 30; and 50% when the payment is made from December 1st to December 29, 2023.

Moreno Mexía explained that the circulation card, license plates, stickers, and fines procedures that are carried out on the following link: ttps://tramites.ebajacalifornia.gob.mx/ventanillaunica/tramites/controlvehicular/revalidacion-digital, will have a 100% discount regarding fines and late payments from October 16 to December 29.

"This forgiveness is an opportunity for taxpayers to regularize their fiscal status and avoid fines and penalties. In this government, we take care of implementing actions to benefit sustainable economic development and promote the reduction of inequality gaps," he said.

The secretary invited taxpayers to begin their procedure online through the following website: https://tramites.ebajacalifornia.gob.mx/ventanillaunica/tramites/controlvehicular, where they'll be able to check all the documents they require.

Lastly, the state official said that, in case payments cannot be made in one sole payment, there are other discounts that can apply, made through agreements and payments plans, which can be reviewed at the collection offices of each taxpayer’s jurisdiction.
