“Tortas Cubanas” in Tijuana delights due to their awesome flavor and chipotle sauce

The chipotle salsa was one of the chef’s favorites

On this episode of Una Mordida Tijuana, our host Chef Danny Betancourt went to “Tortas Cubanas”, giving this show a nice twist. This establishment is located at Avenida Río Bravo & Río Pánuco, Revolución, 22015. On this occasion he tried a carne asada torta priced at $5.7 dollars ($110 pesos).

Carne Asada Torta

This torta has a lot of ingredients among which there are bread, ham, yellow cheese, egg, chipotle sauce, carne asada (grilled beef), tomato, onion, avocado, and lettuce . Chef Danny said that each month, he will be visiting different places where tacos are not served, ad such is the case here. Things such as the ingredients and complements like the meat, avocado or vegetables, presentation, and the base will all be rated properly.

When he took his first bite, our host said that the meat was thinly cut. It was seasoned with salt and pepper and griddled. The chipotle sauce added a sweet and smoked touch, creating a contrast between the ingredients in the torta and enhancing them.

The bun is the kind that can be found at any supermarket. The true highlight for Danny was the great amount of meat in the torta, as well as the complementary ingredients. Without a doubt, the chipotle sauce was one of the dish’s main stars due to its light spiciness and how it complemented everything else. This is why this torta gets a rating of 8.4.

Price: $5.7 dollars ($110 pesos)
