Mexican artist was Latin American Idol finalist: Baja Window to the South

We are talking about Samantha Rae, current member of the band TJ5

Baja California is full of talents with several people who are proudly representing the state in several places, stages, and in a variety of media. Samantha Rae is an artist, producer, and entrepreneur who will celebrate 30 years of a singing career in two years.

She has lived in Mexico since the 1980s when she and her mother decided to auction all of their stuff, sell one of their cars, and pack up everything in one single car. Samantha stated that she comes from an artistic family since her uncle used to be part of band called Tower of Power, who have a song called “Attitude Dance”. Luis Miguel decided to make a cover of this song which was titled “Qué Nivel de Mujer”.

Her musical career began when she was approximately 17 years old in La Paz, Baja California Sur where she immigrated and became a Mexican citizen. During this time, the famous program American Idol had its Latin American version and she decided to participate where she managed to be in the Top 10 representing Mexico. Subsequently, she participated in La Voz (The Voice) Mexico where she was part of David Bisbal’s team.

After participating in these shows, Samantha has reinvented her musical style and decided to release songs she herself had written online with the help of collaborators. She is currently in a group called TJ5, where five artists play a continuous show non-stop with live music and dancers.
