The Governor of Baja California, Marian del Pilar Ávila Olmeda in cooperation with the Head of Government of Mexico City, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo and Secretary of the Interior, Adán Augusto López Hernández, participated in the Alliance of Pacific Governors meeting.
The summit took place in the city of La Paz, Baja California Sur with the welcoming of Mayor Paola Quiroga Romero who opened the doors of the city so that this high-ranking meeting could take place.
Issues of great importance to Mexican Pacific states were discussed such as cooperation in tourism development and the permanent protection of the environment, for they all share important characteristics.
"We are in La Paz, B.C.S. with our fellow Pacific Governors meeting with Claudia Sheinbaum, Head of Government, and Adán Augusto López Hernandez, Secretary of the Interior. The work now begins!”, the Governor wrote on her social media pages when the reunion began.
The Governor highlighted the importance that key figures of the Fourth Transformation (Cuarta Transformación) such as Sheinbaum Pardo and López Hernández work in synchronicity with the Mexican Northeast. It is important that they take part in projects and necessary public policies to improve the lives of inhabitants of the northeastern Mexican territory.
As an important part of the event, there was also a discussion with Leonel Cota, Head of the Executive Secretariat of the National System of Public Security, where specific issues regarding regional strategies of crimefighting were discussed.
The Governors of Baja California Sur, Sonora, and Sinaloa, Víctor Manuel Castro Cossio, Alfonso Durazo Montaño, and Rubén Rocha Moya, respectively, were also present at the meeting.
