National CANIRAC has 30 years recognizing the best of the Mexican restaurant industry in different categories. The selection from thousands of proposals sent by all the delegations of the country are analyzed by a jury that is composed of 26 recognized personalities of the gastronomic industry.

Under this context, the restaurant "La Casa de la Langosta" located in Rosarito, Baja California and known among citizens as the best place to eat lobster in the region, was awarded by the National CANIRAC. This is not the first time that a restaurant located in Baja California wins this prestigious award.

In fact, for four consecutive years, restaurants from this state have won national awards, the first one went to Grupo Plascencia from Tijuana, the second one to El Lugar de Nos Restaurant (Chef Mariela Manzano) in Tecate, the third one to La Justina Restaurant (Chef Javier Caro), from Valle de Guadalupe.

The jury that awarded the Rosarito restaurant the Restaurant Business Merit Award was made up of German González, lifetime president of the award; Don Francisco Mijares, former national president; Miguel Torruco, secretary of tourism; Dr. Griselda Tihui Campos, director of food culture of the general directorate of indigenous and urban popular cultures; Maestra Carmen Beatriz López-Portillo Romano and Claudio Poblete Ritschel, journalist and founder of Culinaria Mexicana, among others.

La Casa de la Langosta in Rosarito opened its doors in 1985, thanks to the experience that Doña Susana Plascencia acquired with her parents, Don José Plascencia, a fisherman and tour guide, and Doña Susana Díaz de Plascencia, who in 1956 founded their first restaurant, Puerto Nuevo 2.
