The archaeological zone of Tulum in Quintana Roo will close its entrance to tourists due to the coronavirus pandemic once again. This will be from last Sunday and until it is determined by the Health authorities, since a case of coronavirus was registered in the place.
This was informed by the National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH) by means of a press release in which it specified that after detecting the case, the recommended measures were taken to avoid further infections. According to the Ministry of Culture, the priority is to guarantee the health of workers and visitors to the area.
This area had been closed since March 2020, and it was not until September of the same year that they decided to open its doors to the public once again. However, it has been determined that it is best to close and wait until further notice.
In a press release, the INAH stated: "For the Ministry of Culture and INAH it is a priority to guarantee the health of workers, as well as that of visitors to its cultural sites, so the Institute will continue to implement the necessary health and hygiene measures to ensure that its spaces are enjoyable and safe".
