Mexicali returns to the number one position in the list of active cases by COVID-19 in Baja California, after going from 305 to 338 of these. According to the report presented this morning by the Secretary of Health, Alonso Pérez Rico.

The state accumulates 870 active cases of which, besides Mexicali, 310 are located in Tijuana, 127 in Ensenada, 31 in Rosarito, 26 in Tecate, 25 in San Felipe and 13 in San Quintín.

With this, the region totals 35 thousand and 33 positive cases of coronavirus, 14 thousand 149 belonging to Mexicali, a municipality that recently added 87 new cases. Tijuana has 11 thousand 978 (66 new), Ensenada 5 thousand and 60 (30), San Quintín one thousand and 324 (11), Tecate one thousand and 174 (2), Rosarito 704 and San Felipe 444 (8).

Of the people who have lost the battle against COVID-19 in the state, 5 thousand 717 have died, of which 2 thousand 484 occurred in Tijuana, a city that reported the death of 36 people in the last hours.

The rest of the municipalities report: 2 thousand 284 (15 new) in Mexicali, 716 (4) in Ensenada, 147 in Tecate, 61 in San Quintin, 20 in Rosarito and five in San Felipe.

Meanwhile, the hospitals that attend COVID-19 cases in the state register an 80% occupation, 178 beds available and 134 ventilators.

Among the good news mentioned by the Secretary of Health was that he will meet with several authorities to see everything related to the logistics of the application of the anti-covid vaccine, which were finalized yesterday.

At the same time, he commented that the suspicious cases continue decreasing in the state, which helps to avoid more infections and therefore more hospitalizations and intubations.
