On its official media, the Federal Institute of Telecommunications (IFT), reminded the Mexican population the implementation of dialing with only 10 digits for long distance calls and local numbers, which began a year ago in the country, but had a period of coexistence with the previous form of dialing, and ends this Monday, August 3rd.
That's right, from this date if you want your calls to come through, you must dial without the codes 01, 044 and 045.
This means that, for calls to fixed numbers, the code 01 will be eliminated and only the 10 digits composed by the area code and the local number will be dialed.
While for calls to cell-phone numbers, the codes 044 and 045 will be eliminated, and they will also be dialed with 10 digits, regardless of whether the call is made from a fixed or mobile number.
And finally, to numbers 01 800, the code 01 will be eliminated, and calls abroad will continue to use the code 00 plus the number to which the user wants to communicate.
Did you remember this? Do you already dial like this?
