The alarm goes off. It's 6:30 a.m., you reach out to stop that horrible sound that lets you know the day has just begun. You open one eye and even though you what time is it, you're still praying for it to be Sunday and asking yourself with the sun suddenly decided to attack your face through the window.
When you finally gain enough strength to actually drag yourself out of bed and start your morning, it's most likely that you haven't woken up entirely, but the minute your nose gets a whiff go that delicious aroma, little by little all your senses start react.
Yes, we are talking about coffee, that delicious beverage that for many is the real waker upper of everyday. And of course, it had to have its own special day.
This day was celebrated for the first time in 1983 when the Japan Coffee Association started to promote it, however, it wasn't until 2005 when the US decided to advertise it, making it a worldwide celebration.
And how can you not celebrate it? Truth be told, there isn't anything that can make you not love coffee, from its aroma to its taste, many coffee lovers will agree that their day can't just simply start properly without a cup of Joe.
So now you know, whether you take it black, with lots of milk, straight from the pot, instant, iced, frappe style, or whichever is way you prefer, don't miss out on the chance of having that extra cup.
