Zonkeys beats Bomberos in friendly match

The team will now travel to Culiacan to play against Caballeros

TIJUANA, BC.- Tijuana Zonkeys had a majestic presentation in front of almost 4,000 fans in the Auditorio Municipal de Tijuana, by beating Mexicali Bomberos 106-85.

James Penny was the best scorer of the night with 22 points, added to 20 scored by Marcus Morrison and 19 by Trayvon Lathan; for the visitors Gene Shipley scored 25 and Mugabe Thomas 19.

Thousands of fans enjoyed the first minutes of Omar Quintero with the Zonkeys jersey this season, while they celebrated with an opening ceremony.

Tijuana will now travel on Friday, April 4th, and Saturday April 5th, against Culiacan Caballeros, as part of their second series of the Basketball Circuit of the Pacific Coast (Cibacopa in Spanish).

Opening Night for Zonkeys will be on Saturday, April 12th against current champions, Hermosillo Rayos.
