Playas de Rosarito Strengthens Ties with the United States

The Mayor of Playas de Rosarito, Rocío Adame, and the U.S. Consul General, Christopher Teal, committed to benefiting communities at the border.

The mayor of Playas de Rosarito, Rocío Adame Muñoz, welcomed Christopher Teal, the U.S. Consul General in Tijuana. At this meeting, both reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening collaboration and working together to benefit communities on both sides of the border.

Mayor Adame Muñoz highlighted the importance of the American community in Playas de Rosarito, as over 15,000 U.S. citizens have made this city their home.

"For our government, strengthening this binational relation is a priority. I am convinced that dialogue and collaboration are essential to achieve positive results that benefit the citizens of both countries. We welcome Consul Teal to our city. It is an honor and a show of our commitment to this relation," the Mayor said.

U.S. Consul General Christopher Teal, in turn, expressed his willingness to collaborate closely with the municipal government of Playas de Rosarito and conveyed his openness to working on various issues of mutual interest.

They addressed mutually relevant issues at this meeting, such as working together on security matters. For instance, opportunities to strengthen the training of agents from the Secretariat of Citizen Security of Playas de Rosarito to improve security in the region were explored.

Another critical issue they addressed was sports and culture promotion. Both parties agreed to foster activities that promote integration and understanding between communities. They also spoke about strategies to boost regional economic development, leveraging the strengths of this bilateral relationship.

Attendees on the U.S. Consul's side were: the Consul of Politics and Economy, Todd Crawford, and Regional Security Official, Blake Child. Attendees on Mayor Adame Muñoz's side were: the Secretary of Citizen Security, Héctor Manzo Ruvalcaba, and the General Director of the Committee of Tourism and Conventions, Irán Leonardo Verdugo.

This meeting marks the beginning of a new stage in the relationship between Playas de Rosarito and the U.S. Consulate in Tijuana. Both parties expressed optimism regarding the future of this collaboration and committed to working together to achieve tangible results that benefit their communities.
