How to celebrate Halloween in Tijuana: What to do and what to avoid

Experience this much-anticipated celebration in the safest way possible

Thousands of people celebrate Halloween in Tijuana to the fullest every year with Avenida Revolución usually becoming the epicenter of the greatest celebrations.

On October 31st, an estimated 10,000 to 15,000 residents and tourists are expected to celebrate out in the streets during this holiday. If you're planning on celebrating at this iconic avenue or anywhere else, keep in mind the following safety tips so that you can enjoy this night in the safest and most fun way possible.

What you should know

Supervise children at all times: Children’s safety must be a priority. Never lose sight of them, especially in crowded areas.

Inspect candies before eating them: Make sure that all candies are correctly wrapped and with no alterations. If you notice anything suspicious, it is better to throw it away.

Follow instructions issued by authorities: There will be official deployments in the area. Follow all instructions to guarantee that this celebration is carried out in the safest way possible.

Keep an emergency route in mind: If you're in a crowded area, always keep in mind what the closest exit is in case of emergency.

Avoid at all costs

Masks and costumes that limit your vision could create distractions and even accidents, which is why it is recommended to avoid them when driving or crossing streets. Don't accept opened or altered candies. Make sure that all candies are in a good state.

Security measures to be implemented

To guarantee the safety of all people in Tijuana, the city is currently preparing a security operation. This deployment will consist of:

  • 450 agents and 200 police units safeguarding the most crowded places.
  • Two first aid stations to assist with any emergency
  • Surveillance of areas close to Avenida Revolución to reduce risks, especially in areas with high numbers of children.

Authorities will be present from 3 PM of October 31st until 3 AM of November 1st to ensure that Halloween 2024 is a happy and safe celebration.
