Her career: More than a mayor

Besides her political career, Norma Alicia Bustamante has a strong academic education. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Language and Literature with a diploma in Journalism. She has also been trained as a teacher in Preschool and Primary Education. And her leadership is not only limited to politics, as she was the first woman in Baja California to create a bookstore business, as she founded "Librería Universitaria" in 1977 which would later become the state chain bookstore "Castañeda Libros" (known today as "Tierra Cálida";).
