Marina del Pilar announces new investment by Gulfstream in Mexicali

Baja California continues to strengthen, this time in the aerospace industry

Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda announced that aerospace enterprise Gulfstream will invest 370 million dollars to build another plant in Mexicali, which is a result of the investment boost in Baja California focused on creating jobs that contribute to the development and wellbeing of all citizens.

Marina del Pilar held a meeting with Gulfstream representatives, company dedicated to building business jets, in which they announced a significant investment of 370 million dollars.

This investment will not only expand the company's operations to more than 540,000 square meters, but will also create 1,500 high-quality jobs, consolidating the efforts of the Fourth Transformation to benefit the population at large.

As such, Gulfstream has become and continues to be one of the main sources of jobs in Mexicali, with more than 5,000 collaborators. Its plant in Mexicali is the biggest one outside of the main headquarters and it has been an economic pillar of the region for more than 30 years.

During her speech, Governor Marina del Pilar highlighted the importance of this investment for the economic and social development in Baja California, underscoring that the leadership of the state in the aerospace industry has been strengthened.

At this meeting, the following people were present: John Ortega, Vice President of Gulfstream; Mark Bennet, Global Director of Institutional Relations of Gulfstream; Kurt Honold Morales, Secretary of Economy and Innovation of Baja California, among other officials and business representatives.
