Restoration projects continue at the Playas de Tijuana pier, where a progress of 10% has been achieved. It is expected, as long as there are no setbacks, that this project concludes on October 15, the municipal delegate of Playas de Tijuana, Anabelle Contreras Pablos, said.

In this Monday broadcast of "Despierta la Esperanza", the head of this delegation explained that most of the wooden surface has been removed, and concrete will be installed in order to make its short-term and long-term maintenance much easier.

She asked for support and understanding from the community while this project is being worked in order to benefit Tijuana and improve its urban image in order to attract tourism.

"We ask people to respect signage, there are precautionary cordons and sometimes visitors remove them. For your safety and your families' safety, we ask for prudence," Anabelle Contreras Pablos said.

The delegate thanked the 150 couples that trusted in the Municipal Administration of Tijuana and participated in the collective marriage ceremony "El mar, testigo de nuestro amor" (The Sea, Witness of Our Love) which took place last weekend at the pier.

She said that, besides the event's decor, a mural titled "Tijuana, aquí empieza el amor" (Tijuana, Love Starts Here) was inaugurated just below its emblematic arches. This artwork was made by several artists led by Cristiana, who has collaborated with other projects by this government.

Regarding projects carried out in the Playas de Tijuana delegation, Contreras Pablos revealed that throughout this administration, 152 community campaigns called "Todos somos Playas" (We Are All Playas), which promoted the pillars of the government led by mayor Montserrat Caballero, took place.

This resulted in a total of 71,500 trees planted for the Sembrando Vida campaign, and more than 5,400 public lights repaired with support from SDTUA, as part of the Kilómetros de Luz program.

2,663 tons of heavy garbage and 2,684 tons of domestic garbage have been collected through the "Ponle Dedo al Basurero" campaign and for the “Bye Bye Baches” campaign, 24,300 square meters of pothole repair and paving work in main avenues, all coordinated with SDTUA, were carried out.
