The governor of Baja California, Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda, supervised the restoration and modernization of the main road at Ejido Puebla, part of the RESPIRA program projects: an initiative whose goal is to provide infrastructure projects to Mexicali natives for a better quality of life.
Marina del Pilar reiterated that during her administration citizens and families have been considered in statewide public policies and projects in order to benefit all people.
"Today we are investing in roads because it is a historic debt we had with the residents of our cities. We will continue to carry out this type of projects in all cities of Baja California, but this is one of the first ones, one of the last ones of the RESPIRA program in Mexicali, one of the first ones with a social focus in this area," she explained.

This repair and remodeling project has an investment of around 60 million pesos and its goal is to restore a more than 1-kilometer-long road with 4 lanes in both directions, drainage pipes, sidewalks, asphalt, public lighting, and green areas.
This reconstruction project at Ejido Puebla will provide drivers greater traffic flow, a decrease in traveling times, and it will prevent traffic jams during peak hours while providing greater safety for users.
“It has been a long time since so many projects were built in Baja California and we are doing them in this administration. We are only two and a half years in, and the best is yet to come. We are seeing that public resources that are so sacred are being invested to cover people's needs, especially for those who have the least”, she concluded.
It is estimated that during these repair works traffic flow will continue with no interruptions, which will allow for progress to be made simultaneously in several different areas in order to complete the project as soon as possible.
