The president of the United States, Joe Biden, has finally made a statement about the recent arrest of "El Mayo" Zambada which took place in Texas during an operation yesterday, Thursday, July 25.
On social media, Joe Biden highlighted the actions by the US government regarding the arrest of the founder of the Sinaloa Cartel and one of the sons of "El Chapo", Joaquín Guzmán López AKA "El Güero".
“Yesterday, the Department of Justice arrested Ismael Zambada Garcia (AKA “El Mayo”) and Joaquin Guzman Lopez, two of the most notorious leaders of the Sinaloa Cartel, one of the deadliest enterprises in the world. They are being charged for leading the Cartel’s deadly drug manufacturing and trafficking networks.”.
In his statement, the president recalled the fentanyl health crisis currently affecting Mexico and the United States, highlighting that his government continues to work so that criminals are held to account before the American justice system.

“Too many of our citizens have lost their lives to the scourge of fentanyl. Too many families have been broken and are suffering because of this destructive drug. My Administration will continue doing everything we can to hold deadly drug traffickers to account and to save American lives.”, Biden concluded.
How was 'El Mayo' Zambada arrested?
On Thursday, the United States arrested Ismael "El Mayo" Zambada, leader and co-founder of the Sinaloa Cartel, in El Paso. He had been wanted by US authorities for decades.
In a statement, the US Department of Justice confirmed the arrest of the founder of this famous Mexican cartel alongside one of the sons from the second marriage of El Chapo. It should be noted that Zambada had a reward of 15 million dollars.
