California is full of amazing attractions and places where you can spend a beautiful afternoon with your family such as county and theme parks. There are also places like aquariums and, right now, the Monterey Bay Aquarium is giving out free admissions.
Find out how to get free admissions to the Monterey Bay Aquarium
This aquarium is currently giving free admissions to its facilities full of aquatic animals to people enrolled in federal food assistance benefits in California.
Aquarium officials explained that they decided to join the "Museum For All" program which means that, starting on May 27, they are offering free admissions to any person enrolled in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), known as CalFresh in California.
These are the gudelines for people visiting the aquarium through the Museum For all program:
- Valid SNAP/EBT card and a photo ID with matching name required.
- Qualifying beneficiary must be present.
- No advance ticket purchase necessary.
- Admission is valid during all regular aquarium operating hours; no restricted dates.
The program's official website states:
You can just go to most participating museums, show your SNAP EBT card and a photo ID, and you will receive the Museums for All admission rate. You can go back as many times as you wish. There’s no limit. Each SNAP EBT card allows up to four people to get the Museums for All rate. Some of the participating museums will allow more than four to enter, so it is a good idea to check their individual policies ahead of time.
