Marina del Pilar presents activity program to celebrate International Women's Day

The program states that these activities will take place from March 5 to March 22, together with academic and government agencies

To celebrate International Women's Day, on March 8, the governor of Baja California, Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda, announced that a series of events will take place over several days, organized by the Center for the Justice of Women (CEJUM) together with several institutions.

Activities will begin on Tuesday, March 5 with the opening of the 2nd Edition of the "International Diploma Course of Prevention, Assistance, and Access of Justice for Women". This program has as a goal to promote public policies to benefit girls, teenagers, and women of Baja California. The inaugural event will take place at Aula Magna in the Law Faculty, Tijuana Campus, of Universidad Autónoma de Baja California (UABC).

Magdalena Bautista, director of CEJUM, explained that as part of this course, the conference "Sentencia Mariana Lima Buendía" of SCJN will be taught by activist Irinea Buendía. This judgment has impacted gender perspective and the rights of women, and the conference will provide a deeper understanding of its meaning and relevance in the current context.

On Wednesday, March 6, the Women’s Health Fair will take place at CEJUM facilities in Tijuana and it will be a collaboration with the Secretariat of Health of Baja California. Its goal is to monitor and prevent risk factors in women's health, offering early assistance.

To celebrate International Women's Day, on March 8, the book "Señorita Lechuga. Caminar Juntas" by Yolanda Morales and Andrea Chavarin will be presented at CEJUM. This presentation will be repeated on March 22 at Universidad Intercultural de Baja California, located in the municipality of San Quintin.

In addition, on Wednesday March 20, a film about female empowerment will be projected in CEJUM Tijuana, in cooperation with the US Consulate. Meanwhile on Thursday 21, the Job Fair for Women will take place in this same place, backed by the Secretariat of Work and Social Welfare (STPS) and the National Employment Service (SNE).

Governor Marina del Pilar emphasized that assistance for women and the eradication of all kinds of violence are key issues in the 2022-2027 State Development Plan, and it implies a joint effort between all public state administration areas and public and private institutions.
