The governor of Baja California, Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda, held a work meeting with federal authorities in order to strengthen coordination between the federal government and move forward with the execution of the Elevated Viaduct in Tijuana, the Otay II Port of Entry, and the San Antonio de los Buenos treatment plant.

The governor said that the state government has collaborated to liberate the right of way for the Elevated Viaduct and the port of entry, allowing the projects to move forward without any setbacks according to the commitment made by the president of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, with Baja Californian society.

She highlighted the commitment of the Secretariat of National Defense (SEDENA) to address infrastructure issues, a very relevant issue for the current and future development of the state, as it strengthens social and economic life.

Marina del Pilar reiterated the commitment of the Government of Baja California to make the actions of federal agencies, such as the Federal Commission of Electricity (CFE), the National Commission of Water (CONAGUA), and the Secretariat of Infrastructure, Urban Development, and Territory Redesign (SIDURT), easier.

Meanwhile the Secretary of SIDURT, Arturo Espinoza Jaramillo, explained that state authorities have collaborated with complementary projects such as drainage infrastructure actions, management of land ownership, coordination to make vehicular traffic flow easier, among others.

At this meeting, the following people were present: Commander of the Second Military Region, Víctor Hugo Aguirre Serna; General Salvador Fernando Cervantes Loza, managing director of engineers at SEDENA; General Francisco Javier Zubia González, commander of the Second Military Zone; the mayor of Tijuana, Montserrat Caballero, and lieutenant Alejandro Robles, administrator of Customs in Tijuana.
